One Drop Only® History
1927 Businessman Otto Müller established the OTTO MÜLLER GmbH & Co chemical factory in Berlin-Charlottenburg. He used the factory to make chemical and pharmaceutical products, including the cosmetic brand Sintilla, which was soon to be known throughout Germany. 1950 After the Second World War, Otto Müller, now with his Scottish son-in-law John Rorison, pursued the idea of marketing a medicinal mouthwash of which even very small quantities would have a powerful effect. Following the establishment of One Drop Only® Chemisch-pharmazeutischen Vertriebs-GmbH and the completion of comprehensive research and development work, Nur 1 Tropfen medizinisches Mundwasser Konzentrat (medicinal mouthwash concentrate) was launched on the market in 1950. The impulse for the company name One Drop Only® came from the then American town major of Berlin. He suggested the name to Müller because it clearly described how the mouthwash should be dosed and showed the international orientation of the company. 1959 The company's founder, Otto Müller, died. His wife, Lina, took over the management of the company. By this time, One Drop Only® mouthwash had long since captured a firm place on the German markets and to an extent on European ones too. Nur 1 Tropfen mouth fluid, as it was called in advertising, had an excellent reputation for preventing parodontosis and freshening breath. 1971 The provisional highlight of the company’s history was the move to the current site at Stieffring in the north Charlottenburg. The most up to date factories are available here. 1988 After One Drop Only® had fully concentrated on trade with its ever popular mouthwash for 38 years, the company risked an expansion of their range in 1988. Today's One Drop Only® Mouth Spray came on the market. The first expansion of the range was followed by others in an almost annual cycle from 1997. That’s how One Drop Only® developed step by step into a system supplier for medicinally effective oral and dental hygiene. 1998 The One Drop Only® Tongue-Cleaner made its first public appearance. It allowed One Drop Only® to set standards in an area of oral hygiene that had previously been almost completely unknown in Germany. Using a great deal of persistence, One Drop Only® managed to draw the attention of the public and specialists to the topic of tongue cleaning, during the course of years to come. The development of products to tackle bad breath has become one of the core skills of One Drop Only®. Today, One Drop Only® Tongue-Cleaner, which is now available in two different sizes and with a practical travel cap, is the market leader in Germany. 2000 One Drop Only® celebrated 50 years of existence with a nostalgic special edition of their mouthwash concentrate.
2005 The nearly 55 year old difference between the company brand One Drop Only® and the product brand Nur 1 Tropfen is relinquished in favour of the unified brand name One Drop Only®. This has created greater transparency for the consumer and awareness of the products and company now finally include the whole brand. Today One Drop Only® has developed into a supplier of a care system for teeth, tongue and gums with components that are perfectly suited to each other. The range comprises Mouthwash Concentrate, Mouth Spray, Tongue-Cleaner (classic and compact), Toothpaste Concentrate, Toothbrush, ONDROHEXIDIN and a ready-for-use Mouth Rinse – all products which are required for compact all-round protection of the entire oral cavity. Product innovations will complement this oral hygiene system in years to come.
